Atlanta Botanical Gardens, 2015, Canon Rebel T3

About the Project

In Thomas’ junior year at Mountain View, he was in the school’s first-ever Photography Class, the excitingly named “Photography I!” The class was led by the Newspaper and Yearbook advisor at the time, Jen Ortman. During one of the units, she took the class on a field trip to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens to take pictures for the assignment. He teamed up with some of his friends in the class, and they ventured off into the gardens, capturing the many exciting plants.

Unfortunately, when they only had about 30 minutes left at the gardens, Thomas realised the settings were not optimal for what he wanted. However, he was able to get 56 pictures, not all necessarily to the standard he had hoped, but beautiful and intriguing none the less!

There is a garden in every childhood, an enchanted place where colours are brighter, the air softer, and the morning more fragrant than ever again.
